This is one of the fastest developing branches of science today with world issues such as BSE, GM food and human gene research constantly in the headlines. QIBT (through its association with Griffith University) offers a well-designed, flexible and coherent program that is taught by dedicated and enthusiastic staff which are well-matched to the syllabus and clearly informed by industry and research. This program is designed to be a pathway program to the second year of a range of bachelor degree programs at Griffith. This diploma program mirrors the first year of the degree program and enables students to articulate to the second year of the selected degree program. Students will undertake studies within a supportive learning environment which incorporates classes at both QIBT and Griffith.

Students should satisfy a minimum English language requirements, a minimum score of 550 on TOEFL or a computerised TOEFL score of 213 or an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 79 (no score less than 19) or a minimum overall band score of 6.0 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 5.5 or no score less than three in each skill of the ISLPR and English test results must be no more than two years old. They must have completed Year 12 of secondary school or equivalent academic achievement. They must have prerequisites of English (4SA).
