This course is to provide an opportunity for students from diverse backgrounds to study a selection of units of interest to them in a program that offers a pathway to a relevant Bachelors degree. The course is offered on a fee-paying basis and is available to international students. This course is designed for students interested in a broadly-based program that integrates the study of behavioural science, sociology and Australian society with a choice of other subjects and the development of communication skills. The course assists students to prepare for a diversity of careers in the human services in government and public and community-based agencies. A student who successfully completes four or more units in the Diploma in Social Science may exit with a Certificate in Social Science.

Applicants must have a completed High School graduation with a minimum 50% pass, plus an overall academic IELTS score of 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.0 in each test).

This Campus (McAuley at Banyo) is situated in the northern suburb of Banyo. The campus is 12 kilometres from the Brisbane city centre and is set on 40 hectares of beautiful natural surroundings. It combines state-of-the-art facilities and a proud heritage, with a history going back to 1863. The campus houses over 2500 students and 200 staff and offers various facilities including a bookshop, cafeteria, coffee shop, library, computer labs, swimming pool and sporting grounds. This campus is located on the outer fringe of Melbourne's Central Business District (CBD). It is a short walk to the popular retail strips of Brunswick Street and Smith Street with their variety of cafes, shops and art galleries. A lot of Melbourne's finest parks, gardens and recreational facilities are also situated near the campus. The main campus is a multi-storey complex that has been renovated to provide students with facilities like a state-of-the-art computer laboratory and an art gallery.
