I really enjoy the course. The agent in my home country asked me to do this course, so I can have permanent residency when I finish my studies. The most important piece of advice I could give to students is that this course is inspiring if you have a passion for food. Otherwise, don't study for the other purposes.
The selection process was not easy for me. I don't have enough English knowledge, so they asked me to do an English course, which costs me a lot of money. Once I finished and had all the modules in English passed, I then could go to do the course in Cookery.
I don't have any scholarship or funding. I just had to use my parents' money.
My class is full of Chinese and Indian students, so I could see there are no chances for me to speak to them in English, as they speak in their mother tongues. I prefer a class with more diverse groups of students. I spent about 30 hours to study. The lecturers are very helpful to international students. The support I recieved was phenomenal. The course was value for money.
The facilities provided was alright. The TAFE is very close to the city area, so after class, I could go shopping and I could have a part time job close to my study too. It was very easy to find part time job. Accommodation was cheap if you are willing to share rooms with friends. I dont know if they have Student Union. I dont join any clubs or societies.
My job prospects have increased thanks to my studies. I am working as a chef in a local restaurant. I am now having residency, and I am happy with that. I still keep in contact with other friends in the course.
Nằm trong New South Wales.
