I am really experiencing the full 'goodness' of an overseas university education, so to speak. The most important advice would be to have an open mind and make sure you always remember why you are studying overseas.

I did south australian matriculation so gaining entry was easy as my scores did not need to be 'checked' or whatsoever. It was relatively straightforward once you receive the offer letter.

Like many malaysian students, I did not seek out financial aid over here. It is a rule of a thumb that international students should always be financially stable to be able to study overseas.

For me, I found it rather like how studies has always been as I come from a private school. However, several differences come to mind like a lecturer who does not mind discussing study related matters and occasionally, abit of footie, in addition to longer breaks and less classes compared to high school.

Since coming to Melbourne and also, because I live in Melbourne, there was never a time which I did not enjoy this place. There are simply so many things to do which you can never do back in Malaysia. I live in an apartment and for city rates, it is rather reasonable. Regarding part time work, it is possible to find them as I've met many international students with part time jobs.

I believe so if compared to me completing my degree in Malaysia, I think that I have received higher quality education and also have a better work-life balance.
